Event by Hernando County Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program – Lilly Browning, Chinsegut Conservation Center and University of Florida/IFAS Extension at Hernando County
This in-person outdoor workshop is offering Rain Barrels only (no compost bins.)
It will be held at Chinsegut Conservation Center’s outdoor pole barn. 23212 Lake Lindsey Road, Brooksville.
Rain Barrels are $50 (checks only) and you must attend a workshop to purchase a rain barrel. If you are a customer of Hernando County Utilities for your water, you will receive a one time credit of $25 on your water bill for attending a workshop and installing a rain barrel at your home.

The Hernando Sun is a locally owned weekly newspaper. The founders of the newspaper are Rocco and Julie Maglio. They saw the need for a newspaper when the Hernando Today newspaper closed their doors in 2014. Rocco is from Hernando, he went to school from Moton Elementary through Hernando High. Growing up in Hernando enhances his ability to provide background to ongoing issues. The Hernando Sun Printed their first issue in March 2015. They published monthly for a year before increasing to a weekly printing. The newspaper is delivered through the US mail, so it arrives with your mail.
