NOTICE OF INTENT TO USE UNIFORM METHOD OF
COLLECTING NON-AD VALOREM ASSESSMENTS
The Board of County Commissioners of Hernando County, Florida, hereby provides notice pursuant to Fla. Stat. § 197.3632(3)(a) of its intent to use the uniform method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments to be levied within the unincorporated areas of Hernando County for the cost of providing public nuisance abatement services, commencing for the Calendar Year beginning on January 1, 2021, and continuing each year thereafter until discontinued by the Board of County Commissioners.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Hernando County, Florida, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. or soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Hernando County Government Center, County Commission Chambers, 20 N. Main St, Room 160, Brooksville, Florida, to consider the following:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF HERNANDO COUNTY, FLORIDA, DECLARING INTENT TO USE THE UNIFORM METHOD OF COLLECTING NON-AD VALOREM ASSESSMENTS WHICH MAY BE LEVIED WITHIN THE UNINCORPORATED AREA OF HERNANDO COUNTY FOR THE COST OF PROVIDING LOT CLEARING AND ABATING NUISANCES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE HERNANDO COUNTY PROPERTY MAINTENANCE ORDINANCE, HERNANDO COUNTY CODE CHAPTER 8, ARTICLE V, TO ELIMINATE PUBLIC NUISANCES THAT EXIST ON PRIVATE REAL PROPERTY, COMMENCING WITH THE CALENDAR YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2021; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
THIS PROPOSED RESOLUTION may be inspected by the public in the Office of the Clerk of Circuit Court, Hernando County Courthouse, 20 N. Main St, Room 362, Brooksville, Florida 34601, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., M-F, legal holidays excepted.
YOU HAVE A RIGHT to appear and be heard at this public meeting and/or to send any written objections to the County Commissioners at 20 N. Main Street, Room 263, Brooksville, Florida 34601-2800.
YOU ARE FURTHER ADVISED that if any person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board of County Commissioners, with respect to the subject matter of the hearing, that person will need to ensure a verbatim record of the proceedings is made.
