Rays Fire Team Doctor

January 30, 2018 - 20:28

The Tampa Bay Rays fired their team doctor on Tuesday, after videos surfaced on YouTube showing a woman accusing him of sexual assault.

Dr. Michael Reilly, who has been with the Rays since their inception, is accused of sexually abusing a woman between eight and 10 years ago starting when she was a teenager. The abuse is said to have lasted for three years while she was an employee of Reilly’s medical practice.

John Higgins, the Rays’ senior vice president of administration and general counsel released a statement on the matter.

Interview with Congressional Candidate Dave Koller

January 03, 2018 - 11:11

Dave Koller is looking to prove “third time’s the charm” is not just a saying. After unsuccessful attempts for the 11th district seat in 2014 and 2016, Koller is throwing his hat into the ring for the 2018 elections.

“I wasn’t originally going to run, because I’m not a time waster. I don’t believe in wasting people’s time or people’s money or assets. We only announced a couple of weeks ago because people have encouraged me to run, have shown me that there is a way forward,” said Koller.

South Florida Bowl Bound

December 15, 2017 - 08:18

The University of South Florida is heading back to the Birmingham Bowl for the second straight year. The Bulls will seek to win it again, this time against the 6-6 Texas Tech.

USF defeated South Carolina in last year’s Birmingham Bowl 46-39 in overtime. Quarterback Quinton Flowers was the MVP of that game, throwing for 261 yards, rushing for 105 and totaling four touchdowns in total.

This year, all eyes will be on Flowers as he needs only 47 yards to break the American Athletic Conference record for total offense.

USF Going Up in Rankings

October 16, 2017 - 17:48

The University of South Florida’s football team has seen some tremendous growth this season.

After starting the season ranked 19th in the country, they fell to 22nd earlier this season. That was due to a mixture of bad luck and shaky performances in their first few games. Earlier this season, the Bulls trailed at the half to both San José State and Stony Brook University. Yes the team would respond in the second half to win both games, but with the team’s expectations so high this season it meant slow starts like those would cause problems for them in the rankings.

Buccaneers Jekyll and Hyde Act Will Cost Them

October 16, 2017 - 17:37

Who are the 2017 Tampa Bay Buccaneers? Are they the team that put on gutsy and inspired performances against the Chicago Bears and the New York Giants? Or are they the team that gets smacked around by the Minnesota Vikings and the Arizona Cardinals?

Sure, the Bucs almost pulled off what would have been an amazing comeback against the Cardinals, but giving up 38 points is forcing an offense without its starting quarterback to do a lot more than it should.
