Michael Segal, son of the late Lester Segal and Helen(Schildhorn) Segal, passed away around 2:00 on Friday, March 8th in his home. He was surrounded by family and passed on peacefully in his sleep. He fought a long, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer for over 3 years, after a stage 4 diagnosis in December 2020. He was very grateful to have continued on for so long after a fatal diagnosis. His faith in God and his strong will to live kept him going for 3 more years.
He is survived by his wife Joanna(Finnegan) Segal, brother Arthur Segal and sister Carol(Allen) Bredt, daughters Michelle(Walt) Szukalski and Christine(Nook) Thorpe, son Brian Segal, three grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Michael was a kind, loving soul. He loved his family and saw the good in people. He enjoyed traveling and cruises. Mike was an avid train lover and retired yardman from over 30 years at Septa in Philadelphia, PA.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was loved by many and his easy going and loving spirit touched everyone he knew. He will be terribly missed by all those who knew him. He repeatedly said how he was ready to join the Lord in Heaven, and now he is at peace.
