July 21, 2016 - 18:25

On the Corner of Highway 50 and Cedar Lane there is an old style barbecue joint. You order what you want at the window and can sit at one of a number of picnic tables in the rustic dining area. They bring the food out to you when it’s ready. While they prepare the food, you will be entertained by the many posters and signs that deck the walls.

Have a Good Day Thai has new chef

July 17, 2016 - 03:17

Have a Good Day Thai has been open for a several months, providing authentic Thai food to Spring Hill and even travelers commuting to and from Tampa.

In hiring a chef, Mr. and Mrs. Nontavatit, owners of the fast casual restaurant felt that they needed to bring in a chef directly from Thailand, to prepare truly authentic Thai cuisine.

The process to get Chef Patinya Areerom to the U.S. was lengthy, but Mr. Areerom brings with him a solid background in Thai culinary arts.

Tamara and Jim Ferguson opened their restaurant in January of 2016 off of 41 in Brooksville. The sunny, brightly colored exterior caught my eye and I decided to give the place a try. Tamara, the cook, is originally from Jamaica. She begins preparing her family recipes early each morning, so there is time for the ingredients and flavors to simmer and meld together before their lunchtime crowd.

BarbieCue: "Sexiest BBQ in Florida!"

June 04, 2016 - 10:58

The BarbieCue food truck has a slogan stating that it serves the "sexist BBQ in Florida!" All I can say about that is the young man who served me did not happen to look like the woman on their truck. You can find the food truck at Marker 48 on Wednesday through Saturday from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. They also state that everything is fresh, never frozen, and homemade including all their rubs and sauces.

BarbieCue offers a number of meats and sides. The meats they offer are smoked ribs, pork, chicken, and brisket. They also have a variety of sides.
