INGOGLIA WINS SECOND TERM AS STATE GOP CHAIR

THE CAPITAL, TALLAHASSEE, January 14, 2017..........Following the state GOP's strong performance in the November elections, Republican Party of Florida Chairman Blaise Ingoglia overwhelmingly won a second term Saturday at the party's annual meeting.

In a vote of the party's executive committee, Ingoglia defeated his only competitor by a 2-to-1 margin, taking 152 votes to 76 for Christian Ziegler, the Republican state committeeman for Sarasota County.

County: 59,029 votes (62.32%).
State: 4,591,156 (49%), Clinton (48%)
USA: 276 electoral votes (AZ, MI not included), Clinton 218 (AZ, MI not included)

Both the Governor of Florida and incoming President of the United States are now both political outsiders. Neither Scott nor Trump ran traditional campaigns and received little support from traditional media. Newspapers overwhelmingly supported Hillary Clinton.

Republicans sweep Hernando- Election 2016

It was a huge night for Hernando County Republicans, as they won every election the party was on the ballot for. Along with Representative Blaise Ingoglia keeping his seat in the Florida House of Representatives for District 35 and John Emerson continuing on as Property Appraiser, the Board of County Commissioners also saw John Allocco unseat Democratic incumbent Diane Rowden in District Three and Steve Champion take over District Five. The Supervisor of Elections, Shirley Anderson was also re-elected.

ELECTION NOV 8 2016: BOCC Candidate Q&A

On the November 8th Ballot, candidates for three seats on the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners will face off. Incumbent Nick Nicholson (R) and opponent Jimmy Lodato (D) will be vying for the County Commission District 1 seat. Voters will choose between Incumbent Diane Rowden (D) and John Alloco (R) for the District 3 seat. In contention for the District 5 seat (currently held by Commissioner James Adkins who is not running for re-election) is Paul Douglas (D) and Steve Champion (R).

JUDGE ORDERS EXTENSION OF VOTER-REGISTRATION DEADLINE

THE CAPITAL, TALLAHASSEE, October 10, 2016..........A federal judge ordered a one-day extension in Florida's voter registration deadline and seemed ready to consider a longer delay against the backdrops of the recovery from Hurricane Matthew and one of the most heated presidential races in decades.
