The accused is a 35 year old white male named Adam Michael Goodman of Hudson. According to Hernando County Sheriff’s office spokesman, Michael Terry, the suspect was yelling "I'm going to kill you and your family.” He was calling them traitors. The other vehicle was being driven by Paul Harter and his passenger was Mark Thomas. The truck had veteran stickers displayed on it and a Navy license tag. He pointed a shotgun at them which he had in his lap. Both men are Navy veterans.

Harter said, “He yelled you’re dishonorable; you dishonored my grandfather. He tried to stop us a couple of times as we drove west on Spring Hill Dr. I called 911 and gave the operator a description of the car and the license tag number. ”

The suspect pursued them and was pointing the gun at other cars. Police did a traffic stop at Waterfall & Spring Hill Drive, but as the deputies approached he pulled the shotgun out and pointed it at them. They called for backup.

He was encountered again at Deltona Blvd. A deputy was attempting to lay out stop sticks to stop the vehicle. He swerved and tried to hit the deputy. The officer had to jump over another vehicle that was in the turning lane to avoid being hit. The suspect ran over the stop sticks blew all 4 tires and continued until he finally came to a stop in front of the shopping center at Kass Circle. He then gave up.

He is being charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault on a citizen, 2 counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest without violence. Apparently, the suspect has a history of aggression toward law enforcement.

After being arrested, the suspect was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. He spat at several of the nurses there.
