Auston Larratta, a 2014 graduate of Springstead High School, has graduated magna cum laude from Saint Leo University, and in August will begin studies at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

The Spring Hill resident earned the Bachelor of Science in biology with a specialization in biomedical and health sciences, and with a minor in chemistry, from Saint Leo.

During his final month at the university, Larratta earned a number of academic honors. He was selected for the School of Arts and Sciences Excellence in Academic Leadership Award, as well as the Dean’s Award for Excellence, which recognizes accomplishments in academics, research (or creative work), experiential learning and community services. He was also inducted into the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Honor Society, which recognizes exceptional college juniors and seniors nationally.
